Four Decades of Precision Finishing
Sundial Powder Coating was founded on a simple principle: every surface deserves a finish that lasts. What started as a small Los Angeles shop has grown into a full-service industrial coating facility serving aerospace, military, architectural, and consumer markets across the continent.
Under the leadership of Shivie Dhillon, we have built a reputation for quality that spans from the White House and LAX to the factory floors of Home Depot and L'Oréal. Our AS9100D certification and PCI 3000 compliance are not just plaques on the wall — they are proof systems that govern every part we touch.

Our 6-Stage Quality Process
Pre-Process Inspection
Every inbound part is inspected for rust, corrosion, scratches, and shipping damage. Missing hardware is flagged and held until the customer authorizes next steps. Nothing enters production without sign-off.
7-Stage Pre-Treatment
Our inline, non-chromate system uses 100% de-ionized water with iron-phosphate coating and a dedicated DI rinse. High-performance cleansers yield enhanced adhesion on ferrous and non-ferrous substrates alike.
Density-Based Drying
Parts enter an independent dry-off oven programmed by density and configuration. Temperatures range from 225°F to 300°F to protect phosphate coating integrity before powder is ever applied.
Precision Application
Nordson SureCoat powder guns deliver full coverage in areas conventional electrostatic systems miss. Six experienced operators and QA personnel supervise every booth cycle.
Calibrated Curing
Cure ovens are calibrated year-round with data-pack temperature recorders. Schedules vary from 350°F to 525°F depending on substrate. Quarterly salt spray tests verify coating performance.
Final QA & Packaging
Every part is checked against customer-approved reference samples for color, gloss, and finish uniformity. Coating thickness is measured, adhesion tests are performed, and QA signs off on every pallet.
